Statement of Faith
We believe in one God, the Father almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth,
who made a covenant with Abraham and his descendants,
gave instruction through Moses,
established the throne of David,
and spoke through the prophets and sages of Israel.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, God's only Son,
who was spoken of by the prophets of Israel
and descended from David.
He became incarnate by the Holy Spirit
and was born of the virgin Mary.
He proclaimed the coming of the Kingdom of God,
gathered disciples and ate with sinners,
cast out demons and performed many miracles.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried
and descended into hell.
On the third day he rose again from the dead,
He ascended to heaven
where he is seated at the right hand of God the Father
from there he will come again to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the one holy, universal, and apostolic church,
the communion of saints,
the inspiration of the Scriptures,
the forgiveness of sins
the resurrection of the body
and the life everlasting.
Further Questions
WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE ABOUT THE BIBLE?
We believe the Bible to be the complete Word of God; that the 66 books, as originally written, comprising the Old and New Testaments, were verbally inspired by the Spirit of God and are therefore free from error; that the Bible is the final authority in all matters of faith and practice.
WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE ABOUT BAPTISM AND COMMUNION?
We believe that baptism is the immersion of the believer in water, whereby the believer obeys Christ's command and identifies with Christ in his death, burial, and resurrection.
We believe that communion, or the Lord's Supper, is the memorial wherein the believer partakes of the two elements, the bread and the cup, which symbolize the Lord's body and shed blood, proclaiming his death until he comes again.
